The Empowered School Project
Restore JOY in Education and Supercharge learning!
Many schools struggle with a lack of consistent student motivation, engagement, and agency. Students commonly have trouble absorbing, remembering, and applying what we work so hard to teach them. Though the COVID shut-down happened several years ago, students’ learning gaps continue to affect their understanding. Employers and colleges are dismayed that graduating high school seniors lack “soft skills” such as, the ability to communicate and problem solve effectively, and work well in teams. Increasing numbers of teachers are feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and underappreciated. The profession they once loved doesn’t seem so loveable anymore.
But it doesn’t have to be like this!
Invite an Empowered School Project into your school this fall semester.
Organically create motivation, student agency, and emotional intelligence, while developing students’ soft skills and improving academic achievement.
This is NOT a curriculum—It’s a neuro-cognitive toolkit for life in just six brain-friendly classroom practices.
Elementary, middle, and high school staffs as well as individual teachers may participate for free as we are still collecting data. The project runs for 14 weeks and is designed to absorb minimal teacher time while delivering maximum results. In fact, once the six brain-friendly practices become habits, they SAVE time.
That’s happier teachers. Happier students. Better test scores. And powerful skills for the whole human.

What educators are saying:
“I used to get so frustrated that students had such a hard time focusing, but with the Three Ps [PREPARE, PURPOSE, PROCESS practices], engagement happens naturally, and coming to work is so much more fun!” ~ Rosalie, second grade teacher, New York
“In 20+ years of teaching, this fall semester, I’ve had more fun with my students doing the Three Ps than ever before. My students are more positive and engaged, and they’re supportive of each other.” ~ Erin, high school math teacher, Oregon
“I didn’t know if the Three Ps would work with my special education population, but these practices have been amazing. My middle-schoolers who used to feel defeated in their learning have come alive!” ~ Kaitlyn, middle school teacher, multiple subjects, Illinois
The Empowered School Project Includes:
- One two-hour interactive presentation (live or online) where educators get to try out six evidence-based, brain-friendly practices that SAVE time while they create a cohesive community, increase student agency for their own learning, and physically boost brain power. That’s less stress, more fun and community, and higher test scores!
- An electronic folder with helpful resources tailored to your school’s needs.
- 14 Weeks of support—The facilitator offers three optional monthly 30-minute Zoom meetings where teachers can share progress and collaborate, address concerns, and ask questions. The facilitator also communicates with administrators and teachers via email (and phone calls, if desired). No bots—just real people collaborating and making “magic” happen—though the project is based in science.
- Weekly teacher input via Google Form (2 to 5-minutes, depending on teacher engagement) to provide data for Patricia (Trish) Wilkinson’s doctoral research at the Global Humanistic University.
We’ve all attended presentations that provided solutions to resolve challenges. Afterward, we might DO one, maybe two of the prescribed actions.
The Empowered School Project supports the implementation of all six practices in teachers’ own styles, transitions leadership of the practices to students, and develops a regular classroom routine that empowers students and teachers for years to come.
P.S. If you are a teacher or a homeschooling parent, and you want to implement these six practices to restore JOY in education and supercharge student learning, send an email to trish@thebrainstages.com, and she will include you in an existing project.
